This is set of reproduction motherboards compatible with the original Red & White Famicom. It includes the mainboard, both controllers, and a composite mod-board. The main board features enhanced shielding.
These boards are primarily intended for repairing systems that have been damaged by acid leaks from failed capacitors, humidity, flooding, spilled liquids, or failed mod attempts. However it can also be used to build a customized machine (in this case though, please consider rescuing a beat up unit as part of your build).
These boards are faithful reproductions with some improvement from extra inner ground shielding. This approach greatly improves many common problems such as jailbars, but cannot fix all inherent flaws of the HVC design. Please see the design pages in the documentation for details of what to expect.
This SKU is a bundle that features:
- An enhanced 4-layer version of the HVC-CPU-07 mainboard
- Rev C of the OpenFC composite mod
- Player 1 Controller Board
- Player 2 Controller Board
This project will be Open Source Hardware (Release 4/24). We believe in your right to repair! If you would like to see available schematics and board-views, please check the source repository here: github.com/starlightk7/OpenFC

Please note: This is a very advanced project. Significant skill in soldering and desoldering is required a long with appropriate tools. Please review the documentation and/or install video carefully before purchasing to understand the project requirements.
You will need to purchase a compatible donor unit, and optionally, any parts you wish to use new separately. There is no guarantee that you can make a successful build simply by purchasing this product. This unit is for use with a 9V DC power supply. While a bridge rectifier is included to prevent death of the system if an OEM NES power supply is attached, use of AC power supplies is not recommended.
